ZPEX is a coating system designed for severe service environments. ZPEX is ideal for Oil/ Gas, salt water, water treatment, chemical processing, and other extreme environment applications. Unlike single-component coatings, ZPEX has been designed as a system of interdependent thin-film coatings, working together to provide the ultimate protection for extreme environments.

The ZPEX system begins with a zirconium oxide pretreatment. This latesest-generation, nano technology pretreatment provides the coating system with a robust anchor and increased base-metal corrosion protection.

After pretreatment, an Electro-Deposited Epoxy primer is applied. In this process, the part is immersed in a series of tanks consisting of cleaning, pretreatment, and the epoxy coating. This "priming" process creates a unrivaled chemical resistant base-coat. This coating is electro-molecularly bonded to the substrate and therefore has exceptional adhesion which prevents chipping and corrosion creep-back. 

Since the priming process uses an immersive electrodeposition technology, it provides corrosion protection to 100% of the part; even in hard to reach recesses and threads.

To complete the ZPEX system, a fluoropolymer topcoat is applied over the Ecoat primer. The superior bond created in our patented ‘Cross- linking’ of the epoxy and fluoropolymer coatings, prevents the ZPEX system from chipping or peeling and prevents corrosion from ‘creeping’ under the coating if ever compromised.

ZPEX is capable of replacing stainless steel in most
corrosive environments, including salt water and hydrogen sulfide (H2S). ZPEX has also outlasted stainless steel 7X over, and at a fraction of the cost. Typical lead time is 7 - 10 days.
